Biomechanical Assessments

Biomechanical assessment is the examination and assessment of your leg and feet’s movements. A podiatrist can perform a biomechanical assessment if you have pain or concern in your lower limb.

Your podiatrist must perform a biomechanical assessment to prescribe orthotics.

Your podiatrist may also advise you on optimizing your gait and exercises and taping techniques to reduce pain and improve lower limb function.

Common injuries we treat in the clinic include Achilles tendinopathy, plantar fasciitis, peroneal tendinopathy, medial tibial stress syndrome (shin splints), patellofemoral pain, tarsal tunnel syndrome, posterior tibialis tendon dysfunction, and more.
